are exceptions:
• Holding what is likely to be a key control, but not enough
extra strength to assume the captaincy
• Holding enough strength for slam, but two low cards in a suil
in which partner may hold a control.
Responder's raise to 34 sets the trump suit, and opener shows interest in slam with a control bid of 44». Responder cooperates by bidding 4 . Opener is still worried about the heart suit and simply returns to the agreed trump suit.
Responder can infer that opener is probably concerned about a control in hearts. Responder has some extra values, but not enough to take command and bid Blackwood. Responder doesn't know thai opener has the valuable 4K, for example. To show some further interest in slam, responder can make another move by showing the control in hearts.
